Lesson from the Acts of Apostles
Acts 8:14-17.
In those days, when the Apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John. On their arrival they prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit; for as yet He had not come upon any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.
Léctio Actuum Apostolórum
Acts 8:14-17
Alleluia, alleluia.
John 14:26
℣. The Holy Spirit will teach you whatever I have said to you. Alleluia. (Kneel.)
℣. Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful; and kindle in them the fire of Your love.
Allelúja, allelúja.
Ps 14:26
Spíritus Sanctus docébit vos, quæcúmque díxero vobis. Allelúja. (Hic genuflectitur)
℣. Veni, Sancte Spíritus, reple tuórum corda fidélium: et tui amóris in eis ignem accénde.
Holy Spirit! Lord of light!
From Thy clear celestial height,
Thy pure, beaming radiance give:
Come, Thou, Father of the poor!
Come, with treasures which endure!
Come, Thou light of all that live!
Thou of all consolers best,
Visiting the troubled breast,
Dost refreshing peace bestow:
Thou in toil art comfort sweet;
Pleasant coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.
Light immortal! Light divine!
Visit Thou these hearts of Thine,
And our inmost being fill.
If Thou take Thy grace away,
Nothing pure in man will stay;
All his good is turn’d to ill.
Heal our wounds - our strength renew;
On our dryness pour Thy dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away:
Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray.
Thou, on those who evermore
Thee confess and Thee adore,
In Thy sevenfold gifts descend.
Give them comfort when they die;
Give them life with Thee on high;
Give them joys which never end.
Amen. Alleluia.
Veni, Sancte Spíritus,
et emítte cǽlitus
lucis tuæ rádium.
Veni, pater páuperum;
veni, dator múnerum;
veni, lumen córdium.
Consolátor óptime,
dulcis hospes ánimæ,
dulce refrigérium.
In labóre réquies,
in æstu tempéries,
in fletu solácium.
O lux beatíssima,
reple cordis íntima
tuórum fidélium.
Sine tuo númine
nihil est in hómine,
nihil est innóxium.
Lava quod est sórdidum,
riga quod est áridum,
sana quod est sáucium.
Flecte quod est rígidum,
fove quod est frígidum,
rege quod est dévium.
Da tuis fidélibus,
in te confidéntibus,
sacrum septenárium.
Da virtútis méritum,
da salútis éxitum,
da perénne gáudium.
Amen. Allelúja.
Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to John
John 10:1-10.
At that time, Jesus said to the Pharisees, Amen, amen, I say to you, he who enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up another way, is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is shepherd of the sheep. To this man the gatekeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them forth. And when he has let out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. But a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers. This parable Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what He was saying to them. Again, therefore, Jesus said to them, Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All whoever have come are thieves and robbers; but the sheep have not heard them. I am the door. If anyone enter by Me he shall be safe, and shall go in and out, and shall find pastures. The thief comes only to steal, and slay, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.
Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Joánnem
Joannes 10:1-10
Ps 77:23-25
The Lord opened the doors of heaven; He rained manna upon them for food and gave them heavenly bread. The bread of the angels was eaten by men, alleluia.
Ps 77:23-25
Portas cœli aperuit Dóminus: et pluit illis manna, ut éderent: panem cœli dedit eis, panem Angelórum manducávit homo, allelúja.
May the offering of this gift here before You, O Lord, make us pure and worthy to take part in this sacred rite.

Holy Spirit
It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God: through Christ our Lord. Who ascending above all in the heavens and sitting at Thy Right Hand, poured out the Holy Spirit upon the children of adoption. Wherefore the whole world doth rejoice with overflowing joy; and the heavenly Hosts also and the angelic Powers sing together the hymn of Thy glory, evermore saying:
John 15:26; 16:14
The Spirit Who proceeds from the Father, alleluia: He will glorify Me, alleluia, alleluia.
Joannes 15:26; 16:14
Spíritus qui a Patre procédit, allelúja: ille me clarificábit, allelúja, allelúja.
May the Holy Spirit, we beseech You, O Lord, renew our minds through the heavenly sacrament, for He Himself is the forgiveness of all sins.
Through our Lord… eiusdem
Mentes nostras, quǽsumus, Dómine, Spíritus Sanctus divínis réparet sacraméntis: quia ipse est remíssio ómnium peccatórum.
